ICORE Classification Process

Classifier scores that are submitted by ICORE clubs are recorded in the master database and classification ratings are updated quarterly. A minimum of four (4) classifier scores must be submitted for each member per calendar year per division (Ltd or Open) to keep their classification current. "Per calendar year" is interpreted as starting with January of the year prior (to avoid everyone automatically becoming "U" at of the start of a new calendar year).

You can check your current classification here.

Classifier stages are available for download here.

Classification Scores Procedure for ICORE Clubs

Step #1: Select classifier(s) from the available list. If you are unable to download and print these files, a collection of these classifiers, assembled as a loose-leaf Classification Manual or as a CD-ROM, can be sent to the designated club representative. At this time, we are only providing Classification Manual or CD-ROMs to sanctioned clubs. If you wish to set up an ICORE club, please see the instructions here. ICORE members who do not have access to a sanctioned ICORE club may also submit classifier scores. These members must be current, in good standing and MUST have a NROI certified range officer administer the stage and sign the classifier score sheet. To obtain hard copies of the classifier stages, contact the Competition Director.

Step #2: Set up the classifier(s) following the stage description very precisely. Use NRA D-1 Tombstone targets. The first 18 classifiers will not have steel. As classifiers are added, they may have round or rectangular steel plates. When steel is required, it is essential to use the correct size.

Step #3: Fill out score sheets completely and legibly. This includes Name, ICORE Membership Number, and Type of Revolver, Limited or Open (you must circle one), the date, your signature, and the Range Officer's signature. Please score the targets carefully and accurately. If the hole is near a perforation, please use a transparent overlay to ensure the hit is scored correctly. It is essential that the date the classfier is shot be recorded, as it is used in the database for determining the number of classifiers per year.

Step #4: Mail the score sheets (not summary sheets) and classifier fees. You may include a summary sheet but you MUST send copies of each score sheet. Classifier fees are $2.00 per classifier stage, per ICORE member. That is, if 4 members shoot CS-005, the total fees would be $8.00. If 4 members each shoot CS-005, CS-006, CS-007, CS-008, the total fees due would be $32.00. Score sheets and fees should be sent in as soon as possible after the classifiers are shot.
